Everything Announced at the VR Games Showcase Summer 2026
The sixth VR Games Showcase just wrapped, and if you're a VR creator deciding what to cover next, this is your cheat sheet. Here's everything announced, from shadow drops to release windows, with trailers and links where I have them.
Overall, extraction shooters seem to be having a moment in VR. Three different co-op extraction games dropped or were announced in a single showcase. Take that for what you will.
The Big Reveals
Breachers: Outbreak
Developer: Triangle Factory | Platforms: Meta Quest, Pico, SteamVR, Steam | Release: 2026
Triangle Factory — the studio behind Breachers and Hyper Dash — just pivoted hard from PvP to co-op. Breachers: Outbreak is a four-player zombie extraction shooter where you hunt down Patient X to stop an undead apocalypse. Dynamic zombie spawning, randomized maps, perk builds, weapon mods.
DRIFTERS: Blackout Crew
Developer: Salmi Games | Platforms: Meta Quest, SteamVR | Release: TBA
From the creators of Sweet Surrender comes their next co-op VR extraction shooter. Up to four players raid ancient alien temples, steal energy for a dying mothership, and make the push-deeper-or-extract call together. Tactile VR gunplay, jetpacking, crafting, base upgrades.
INWIGO — Available NOW
Developer: Dirty Pearl Studios | Platforms: Meta Quest (exclusive) | Release: Early Access Now!
This one launched during the showcase. INWIGO is a free-to-play co-op VR horror extraction game for 1–4 players. You're sent into Thornwake Manor — a Victorian estate stuck in a parallel dimension — to retrieve haunted heirlooms for an automaton named Monsieur Morrowen. The twist the game is built around: you're not heroes. You're feeding something that should never have been fed.
Six distinct enemy types, a dynamic threat system that scales as you loot, and an evolving narrative mystery. Studio's debut title. Founder Packs available for purchase to support Early Access development. Steam release planned for fall 2026.
The Rifted Skies
Developer: DreamVR | Platforms: Meta Quest, SteamVR | Release: Fall 2026 Early Access
Physical parkour roguelite from a studio that built 80+ LBE VR experiences. Arm-swing to run, jump, wall-run, climb, slide, glide, grapple — all while fighting at full speed. No thumbstick locomotion, no button-breaking immersion. Three biomes, two available at Early Access launch. Playtesting feedback described it as the movement experience VR players have been waiting for.
The Lightkeepers — September 10, 2026
Developer: Spectral Games | Publisher: Meta | Platforms: Meta Quest 3 & 3S | Price: TBA
Lovecraftian co-op horror with a day/night loop. By day, sail through fog and scavenge islands. By night, defend your lighthouse against abyssal horrors. 20+ weapons, a full crafting system, randomized island locations, and meaningful meta-progression. Social hub for teaming up, solo play supported but not recommended. Published by Meta directly, which is worth noting.

Payday: Aces High

A developer diary dropped showing co-op VR heist gameplay. Up to 4 players, stylish chaos, the classic Payday mask-on moment translated to VR.
Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades 2
Developer: RUST LTD | Platforms: Meta Quest, Steam | Release: TBA
H3VR2 is happening. The sequel to the landmark VR firearms sandbox showed off melee combat and teased more. The original H3VR has one of the most dedicated VR fanbases out there.
Sol Protocol
Developer: Singular Perception | Platforms: Meta Quest 3/3S (Sept), Steam (Oct) | Release: Early Access
Co-op VR space roguelike where up to 3 players physically pilot a spaceship — pilot, gunner, engineer roles, EVA spacewalks, procedurally generated sectors. FTL meets Star Trek: Bridge Crew. Originally planned for April 2026, delayed for quality. PCVR playtesting opens June 27, 2026 with crossplay.
Shadow Drop — Out Now
Skeleton Crew
Developer: 1A3M Studio | Platforms: Meta Quest 3 & 3S | Release: Now!
Surprise launch during the showcase. Physics-driven co-op pirate action game — two players, swords, pistols, and freshly severed skulls. Light-hearted and built specifically to push what standalone VR can do physically.
Lanesplit VR
Developer: FunkyMouse | Platforms: SteamVR + Steam | Release: Now!
High-speed motorbike racing with a VR update that launched the same day as the showcase. Thunderstorm weather, electric motorcycles, real influencer appearances (Brian636, CyborgAngel, GhostRider as playable characters). Flat + VR.
Content Worth Watching
Dagger Woods VR
Developer: Paracosm Studio | Platforms: PC VR, PS VR2, Meta Quest | Release: Soon
Psychological thriller escape room set in 1960s Nova Scotia. You're a mother searching haunted woods for her three missing children — except the real horror isn't the monster in the woods. Branching narrative, puzzles that double as storytelling, multiple endings built around themes of trauma. Based on real regional folklore. No release date yet.
I Am Your Beast VR
Developer: Flat2VR Spark | Platforms: SteamVR | Release: 2026 Early Access
VR adaptation of the acclaimed roguelite FPS I Am Your Beast. Lightning-fast, micro-sandbox assassination gameplay. Replayable levels, improvised weapons, climbing and ambush mechanics. The flat game has a strong reputation — the VR version should be worth covering.
EXOSHOCK — Multiplayer Launching July
Developer: PolarityOne | Publisher: VRAL Games | Platforms: Meta Quest, Steam | Release: 2026
Visceral 1–4 player co-op PvE deep space shooter, currently in Early Access. Multiplayer support dropping in July. Cross-platform VR and flat screen. PSVR2 planned for the future.
Guardians Planetfall

Squad-based tactical VR shooter from the Guardians Frontline team. Up to 4 players, procedural planets, hostile aliens and massive war machines. Q4 2026.
Bamboo Grove

VR horror where you're a game tester whose test goes wrong. You put the headset on to test a horror game called Bamboo Grove — and when you take it off, you're still inside. Pre-orders opened at the showcase.
Daumier: Lila & Ghost

Asymmetric co-op VR puzzle adventure. One player is Lila, one is her ghost companion. Explore an art gallery hiding a centuries-old mystery. Play together across interlinked roles.
R.A.I.D.

Customs agent co-op shooter set on an orbital space station. Inspect cargo, uncover contraband, then board and fight through spacecraft full of pirates and aliens. Up to 4 players. Bizarre sci-fi weapons including alien potato launchers and experimental wormhole tech.

Beat the Beats — Level Editor Now Live on Steam
Platforms: Steam, Meta Quest, Pico, PSVR2
The rhythm-boxing game now has a free level editor on Steam, shipping with 35 songs and Steam Workshop support. Make beat maps for your own music, share them, download others'. Free update, Steam only.
